ABOUTFour-Part MissionAs pioneers who are changing how healthcare is provided, we have a four-dimensional mission, with goals for each. The National Mission and the Research Mission were activated in 1998. The Educational Mission, established in 2000 through pilot projects and forums, is ready for expansion this year into a unique engineering curriculum for BS/MS students. And our Community Mission is being activated this year. National Mission: To be an integrative force for creating and validating proactive health technology for consumers and providers Research Mission: To lead in the development and integration of new, medically validated, technologies for self-care, home care, and mobile care Educational Mission: To offer a unique Community Health Engineering specialty with an emphasis in integrative medical technology and systems research, including internship opportunities Community Mission: To establish a community model for proactive health as an integrated part of the overall health care system, with Rochester as the prototype. |
