Biography
Prof. Lewis Rothberg does research in organic device
science and technology and is a member of the Chemistry
and Chemical Engineering departments. His work involves
the use of organic materials to make displays,
transistors and biological sensors. He is a physicist by
training and collaborates with Prof. Benjamin Miller and
others at the Center to design new ways to sense
biomolecular binding events and use these to
revolutionize microarray sensing technology. He is
particularly interested in developing optical and
impedimetric methods of sensing that do not involve
fluorescent or radioactive tagging chemistry and can be
implemented with very low cost.
