Biography
I am interested in applications in genetics and bioinformatics, especially the area of pedigree reconstruction using genetic data. This work involves the development of algorithms to solve the associated optimization or enumeration problems that arise when large pedigrees are involved. I also have a more general interest in optimization and control theory, particularly in the area of dynamic programming.
As well, I am interested in small sample asymptotics, particularly the study of random systems of equations with the objective of obtaining higher order density approximations of their solutions.
I was awarded a Ph.D. from the Department of Statistics at the University of Toronto in 1994.
